If you could be God for a day, what three things would be at the top of your to-do list?

Hmmm.

1. make sure everyone has a fair trial, case by case- no more what the law says is. there are different cases, different sides of the story, ALWAYS.
2. I know it's not really possible, but return victims to their families. Victims of 9/11, victims of war, victims of starvation, murder, suicide, whatever.
3. take away everyone's addictions to drugs, smoking, alcohol, etc.

that could have sounded so much more insightful, but it didn't. =P

one of my favorite books is The Giver, by Lois Lowry.
If you haven't read it, this is basically what it's about:
In this world, everything is "perfect." It's the ultimate Utopia.
-note this may have some slight spoilers... but nothing too big-
No war, no hunger, no long-lasting pain.
No cars to create global warming with.
No sunburn, no fighting with friends, no crushes that don't like you back.

But there's also no weather, no color, no hormones, no feelings/emotions, no words that are unprecise-- i.e. "love", no real sense of family-- you are assigned your children, no weather, no sex, no love, no freedom, no choice.

Would you really want to live in a world like that?
Would it really be perfect?

Yes, there are countries where there is such oppression- you cannot have more than 1 child, etc., etc.

But what if there was a place where there was no love?

Jonas says to his parents: "Do you love me?"
An exact quote from the book is:

There was an awkward silence for a moment. Then his father gave a little chuckle. "Jonas. You, of all people. Precision of language, please!"

His mother then refers to the word "love" as "so meaningless it's become almost obsolete."
They then tell him that they "enjoy" him, they "take pride in his accomplishments," but no. They do not love him.

Imagine if your parents told you that. Wouldn't that be awful? And they weren't even saying it because they hated him or anything- they just thought the word meant nothing!
Everything in this so called utopia is absolutely perfect,
but is it really?

You don't even get to pick your spouse- you don't give birth to your own child.

I'd also like to comment on Miley Cyrus's recently exposed Vanity Fair pictures.
Miley ... No, this was not a wise decision on her part.
In fact, it was kind of stupid.
But she's onlly fifteen, and there was probably a lot of pressure from the people at the shoot for her to do it.
However, doing it in front of her grandma... what on earth?!

So I was thinking of doing a graphics post, since I made a bunch of Gossip Girl avatars the other day.
Buuuuuut, I wasn't sure what else to do. So if anyone wants to give me some pictures, gallery links, tv shows, people... that'd be great and I'll make some of who/whatever :) it's best if you give me pictures though.

MOVIE REVIEWINGGGG;

Fool's Gold - Don't waste your money.
It was unbelievable, incredibly unrealistic, disgusting, and the actors had no chemistry. The best part of this was the Paris-Hilton-esque heiress, Gemma.
Nothing in this was believable- especially the relationship between Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. Blood was spurting all over the place, people had sex in a church, I -ugh- got to see a woman pulling off her bikini top, and, oh yeah, a guy fell out of an airplane. DISGUSTING and UNREALISTIC.

Definitely, Maybe - Go see it.
Everyone had chemistry with each other, the plot line was believable, and the whole audience was cracking up. The only frustrating thing: [SPOILER ALERTTTT] William didn't end up with Maya's mom, Emily. =P =P =P If you're an emotional person, this will get you crying, and it will get everyone laughing.

Penelope - I really want to see this. It looks good.

Juno - GO GO GO.
It was really good... you just have to see it. IDK, did it win any Oscars?

so, I thought to start with, I'd tell you a little about me.
I try to be open, but I've gone through enough that I'm still guarded.
You can ask me any question, but I won't always answer. I'm always open for talking or just letting someone talk to me, but if I don't think you're someone I want to talk to, I won't talk to you.
So maybe I'm not so open, but I'm not closed with a lock on the door.
I can go from happy go lucky to grrr in five seconds, but that's something you'll just have to deal with.
I try to be more in the middle, but I don't always succeed.
In reality, I'm the queen of sarcasm; in cyberspace, I tend to be a little bit happier.
Even though I'm not 21 or whatever, I'm a little bit smarter than your average 7th grader. I've been tested ;] Not to sound conceited or whatever, just letting you know that just because I might be younger doesn't make me any dumber.
So, looking down, you might see that my mood is currently "anxious." (credit for the mood theme, layout, etc is on the "me stuff" page)
Now, why, in heaven's name, would I be anxious, right before the holidays?
Normally, I'm Miss Holiday Cheer. I wear red and green to school every day for two weeks, practically.
But this year, I'm not even going to be home for Christmas. Or New Years (but that's no different). Or the first day of school.

Which really sucks.

so, I think I'm going to post this to check out if it'll actually show up right. maybe I'll edit this later and test how to post pictures.. I think I know.
